The Bolshoi Theater

The Bolshoi Theater can truly be called the temple of Russian culture

The Bolshoi Theater

For more than two hundred years, the Moscow theater has been one of the most significant cultural venues not only of our country, but of the entire planet. Not for nothing is the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Russia among the world's largest opera and ballet theaters, such as La Scala, Coven Garden and Metropolitan Opera, its own special niche. It was here that for two centuries, theater-goers gathered from all over the country, getting acquainted with the work of the best artists of opera and ballet art.

Thirteen serf musicians and less than thirty artists became the first members of the troupe of the private provincial theater of Prince Ursov, and then invited actors from abroad began to appear on the stage of the new theater platform. The initial repertoire combined in itself Russian and Italian drama, ballet and opera programs in such a way that the drama and opera were a single whole.

Now the Bolshoi Theater includes an opera and ballet troupe, a Scenic Wind Orchestra and the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra, which is famous all over the world. For its rich and interesting history, hundreds of artists, directors, artists, conductors and other artists have received various state awards and titles on the stage of the main cultural center of the capital.
