Vnukovo International Airport

VNUKOVO (Внуково) - VKO

Vnukovo International Airport

Vnukovo is the closest airport to the city centre - 10km from the MKAD ring road. The airport consists of three airport complexes - one for passengers, one which serves the Russian president and the Russian government and one for private business flights. The passenger airport has three terminals: A which serves domestic and international flights, B - which serves all international charter flights and some domestic flights and D which currently only serves arrivals from the North-Caucasus. All three terminals are located next to each other, but to get from terminal A to terminal B you need to go outside. The Aeroexpress rail terminal is connected with terminal A.

Terminal A serves all domestic flights (except some flights arriving from the North Caucasus region), all regular international airlines: Aigle Azur, Georgian Airways, Lufthansa, Turkish airlines, UTair, with transit to European countries. The terminal can be accessed via an underground passage (directly from the “Aeroexpress” underground railway station), through the arrivals area on ground level (with public transport or through the multi-storey car parks) or through the check-in area on the second floor (via the flyover).

An entrance to Terminal B can only be found on ground level as there is no access to the Terminal by overpass (flyover).

Terminal D has now been partially decommissioned and carries only some domestic arriving flights (mostly from the cities in the North Caucasus region). Entry and exit from the terminal D can be located through terminal B.

How to get to/from the airport
The Aeroexpress train to Moscow leaves every hour from the basement of terminal A. The journey takes around 35 minutes. You can buy tickets at the airport and railway station as well as online on the website: www.aeroexpress.ru/en/. The Aeroexpress train arrives at Kievsky Railway Station (Киевский вокзал) which is located just next to Kievskaya metro station (станция метро Киевская). Kievskaya metro station is located close to the city centre where three lines cross. Red Square is located just two stations from Kievskaya metro station.
